Mumbai, July 22, 2023: Actor Vivek Oberoi has filed a complaint with the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Mumbai Police, accusing his business partners, Sanjay Sharma and Rahul Narvekar, of fraud.
In his complaint, Oberoi has alleged that Sharma and Narvekar had promised to invest Rs 50 crore in his company, Oberoi Mega Entertainment LLP. However, they only invested Rs 35 crore, and then refused to return the remaining Rs 15 crore.
Oberoi has also alleged that Sharma and Narvekar used the money that they had invested to buy a property in Goa, without his knowledge or consent.
The EOW has registered an FIR against Sharma and Narvekar under sections 420 (cheating), 406 (criminal breach of trust), and 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code.
The police are currently investigating the matter.
This is not the first time that Oberoi has been involved in a legal battle with his business partners. In 2018, he had filed a complaint against his former manager, Santosh Gupta, alleging that Gupta had cheated him of Rs 25 crore. The case is still pending in court.
